New Developments in Land Management Tools and their Application at the Farm Scale

Purpose

Provide an overview of recent developments in land management tools and their application at the farm scale.

Scope and Context

The workshop provided an opportunity for scientists to bring participants up-to-date with new developments in land resource information and technology. Examples of some of the tools demonstrated include: Overseer, S-map, SedNet, SPASMO, and MyLand. The application of these tools at the farm scale was discussed along with potential barriers to their implementation. The workshop also provided the opportunity to network and identify opportunities for on-going engagement. Topics covered include:

  • An overview of land management tools – new developments and future work
  • The application of these tools at the farm scale – potential issues and future requirements
  • Building capacity – training needs and implementation barriers
